Pirates' Plenty: The Sunken Treasure starts on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 20 fixed paylines, but that is not its final configuration. First thing worth flagging: Red Tiger publishes this game simply as Pirates Plenty on its product page, while the databases append the subtitle The Sunken Treasure. Both sequels in the series, Battle for Gold and Treasures of the Seas, do carry their subtitles on the publisher's site.
The structuring mechanic is map piece collection. The player accumulates map symbols across spins and, once the bar fills, a sixth reel opens: the grid goes from 5x3 to 6x3, from 15 to 18 positions. Red Tiger specifies that this reel stays unlocked once obtained. It is persistent progression, which is rare on a payline machine.
That unlock is not cosmetic. The wild ships carrying multipliers of 2x, 3x or 5x only appear after the sixth reel opens.
