About Firefly Frenzy
Firefly Frenzy arrived on 24 July 2019, three months after Crystal Sun. Play'n GO files it under a fantasy theme and, as with most of its games, publishes no RTP, no volatility and no maximum win on the official page. Every figure below comes from specialist databases.
The grid runs five reels by four rows, twenty positions in all, with 30 fixed paylines. That detail deserves precision, because listings claiming "30 ways to win" circulate: three independent sources document paylines, not ways. The difference is not cosmetic — a payline imposes a specific path, a way to win accepts any position on the reel.
The game rests on three firefly wilds. The first is an ordinary wild with no multiplier. The second carries a x2 multiplier and the third a x3. Sources agree on those values but disagree on the colour of the x2 wild, described as yellow in one place and orange in another; the values themselves never move. All three substitute for the paying symbols.
The decisive rule fits in one sentence: when several multiplier wilds take part in the same combination, their multipliers multiply each other. Five x3 fireflies in a row produce 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 = 243x, the documented maximum. The progression is brutal: two x3 wilds are worth x9, three are worth x27, four are worth x81. Each extra firefly triples the value of the line, where an additive system would merely add three.
Frenzy Spins do not trigger like conventional free spins. A moon scatter has to appear on the reels and a firefly wild has to land on it. Two conditions instead of one, which explains how rarely the bonus shows up. The reward is eight spins. If the triggering firefly carried a multiplier, that multiplier applies to every win in the round. Retriggers are unlimited, and a retrigger obtained with a higher-value firefly raises the floor multiplier for the rest of the feature.
The default RTP is 96.59%, leaving the house a theoretical €3.41 per €100 wagered. Across the 180 Play'n GO machines in the BetsRank database, only ten do better. One warning though: a 94.52% build exists, which lifts the margin to €5.48 per €100. Two points of difference is more than the entire house edge on many table games, and the active figure is printed in the casino's game rules.
Stakes run from €0.30 to €90, rather than the €0.20 to €100 seen on most of the studio's titles. The reason is arithmetic: 30 lines at €0.01 make €0.30, and 30 lines at €3 make €90. Legacy of Egypt, another thirty-liner from the studio held in our database, uses exactly the same range. The 10,000x cap is therefore worth €3,000 at the minimum stake, €10,000 at €1 and €900,000 at €90. That is a genuine ceiling: 116 of the 180 Play'n GO machines in our database stop lower. On volatility the databases split — SlotCatalog and several listings call it high, another calls it very high. With a bonus gated behind two conditions and a multiplier that triples with every wild, the second reading matches what the game actually produces.
