About Diamond Supernova 40
Diamond Supernova 40 was released by Push Gaming on 10 December 2025 under the Reel Hot Games sub-brand. The format is a 5-reel, 3-row grid across 40 paylines — the number in the title is precisely the payline count, the series also existing in 5, 20 and 100 line versions.
The game has no free spins, no triggered feature and no bonus buy. Its entire interest rests on the Star Scatters, which appear only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Just three of the five reels can carry one. Three variants exist, and the prizes are fixed against total bet: three blue scatters pay 25x, three red pay 100x and three gold pay 1,000x. Any mixed combination of three scatters, whatever the colours, pays 5x.
That last figure deserves a pause: 5x for a complete alignment of three scatters is a consolation prize that refunds almost nothing. And Push Gaming's highest observed win on this game is 1,014.2x, barely above the 1,000x gold prize. In other words, the top of the machine is that single event plus an ordinary payline win on top. There is no stacking, multiplier or cascade mechanic capable of reaching any higher.
Then comes the real subject. Push Gaming's official page shows two RTPs for this title — 96.32% and 94.23% — alongside the sentence "RTP's may vary per casino. The RTP of the game can be found in the user panel and on the game loading screen." This is a common industry practice, but rarely displayed this openly, and it has measurable consequences.
At 96.32%, the house keeps €3.68 per €100 staked. At 94.23%, it keeps €5.77. The 2.09-point gap says little on its own, so translate it: the real cost of play rises by 57%. Over €1,000 wagered in a session you lose €36.80 on average in one case and €57.70 in the other. Over €10,000 across a year, €368 against €577. The game is the same, the symbols are the same, only the server's pay table changes.
This dual setting is not specific to this title. We recorded the same pairs across the whole Reel Hot Games sub-brand: Diamond Supernova 5 shows 96.34% and 94.27%, the 20-line version 96.33% and 94.22%, the 100-line version 96.33% and 94.29%, Red Hot Multipliers 96.22% and 94.23%, and Power Vault 96.41% and 94.38%. The gap sits consistently around two points. The practical rule is simple: on a Reel Hot Games title, open the information screen before your first stake.
A comparison inside the series is instructive. The four Diamond Supernova games post near-identical RTPs (96.32% to 96.34%) and very close observed maximum wins (1,006.3x for the 100-line version, 1,014.2x here, 1,016.2x for the 20, 1,040x for the 5). The number of lines therefore changes neither the return nor the ceiling: it only alters how the stake is distributed and how often small wins land. Picking the 100-line version over the 5-line one improves nothing, contrary to what intuition suggests.
Push Gaming classes volatility as low, which fits 40 lines and plenty of small wins, but sits awkwardly against the fact that the entire top of the game concentrates into a single 1,000x draw.
