    BetsRank Verdict

Hands-on testing by Alexandre Dubois — bonus tested, multiple sessions

Cash Crew is a collection game wearing paylines as a costume. The 19 lines exist, but the money sits elsewhere: in Cash symbols worth 1x to 500x stake, swept up when a Grab'em scatter lands, and in multiplier wilds from x2 to x25 that apply to any Cash inside a 3x3 area around them. Run the arithmetic: a 500x symbol hit by an x25 multiplier gives 12,500x, above the game's own 10,000x ceiling. Top potential therefore rests on one well-placed square rather than on accumulation. My main complaint is bonus length. Six free spins for The Vault, nine for the high-security version. That is short for a mechanic that needs several spins to seed multiplier positions and line them up with Cash. The second complaint is quieter: the base RTP of 96.26% is the worst of the game's five modes. The four buys read 96.27%, 96.30%, 96.30% and 96.34%. A player who never buys gets the weakest setting, and the one who pays most — 300x — gets the poorest of the four buys. Hacksaw rates volatility 4 out of 5, and the empty stretches are real.

    Strengths

    • +Cash symbols up to 500x, all banked in a single sweep
    • +Multiplier wilds up to x25 that combine with their neighbours
    • +Guaranteed 5x floor on every Cash in the High-Security Vault
    • +10,000x ceiling reachable in every mode according to Hacksaw
    • +A 5x scouting buy, cheap enough to test the feature with

    To consider

    • Six and nine free spins: both bonuses are short
    • 96.26% base RTP, under the 96.28% Hacksaw median
    • The base game carries the worst RTP of the five modes
    • The priciest buy, at 300x, has the lowest RTP of the four
    • Volatility 4 out of 5, so long runs with no useful collection

    About Cash Crew

Cash Crew is played on a 5-reel, 5-row grid with 19 fixed paylines. That is Hacksaw's stock chassis, the one the studio reuses on Chaos Crew, The Luxe, RIP City and Twisted Lab. Here the lines are mostly scenery: the real payment structure is a collection mechanic.

The first layer is Cash Money. Cash symbols carrying a value between 1x and 500x stake land on the grid. They pay nothing while they sit there alone. A Grab'em scatter has to appear while at least one Cash symbol is present — at that moment every displayed value is banked at once.

The second layer is Multipliers Gone Wild. Multiplier symbols are wilds in their own right and substitute for any symbol in the paytable. The published values are x2, x3, x4, x5, x6, x7, x8, x9, x10, x15, x20 and x25. When a Grab'em triggers a collection, each multiplier applies to the Cash symbols inside a 3x3 area around it. Hacksaw states that values from x4 upward stay hidden until the collection happens. Two neighbouring multipliers combine with each other, which makes their position on the grid at least as important as their face value.

Three FS scatters open The Vault: 6 free spins with improved odds and activated multiplier positions that generate a random multiplier on every spin. Stopwatch symbols add 1 to 6 extra spins. Four scatters open The High-Security Vault: 9 free spins running the same activated-position logic, except that every Cash symbol that lands is worth a minimum of 5x. That guaranteed floor is what justifies the price gap between the two buys.

Default RTP is 96.26%, meaning the house keeps €3.74 of every €100 staked. That sits below the median of the 161 Hacksaw titles in the BetsRank database, which stands at 96.28%. Three lower settings exist — 94.23%, 92.17% and 88.29% — and the operator picks which one it installs. The recorded hit rate is 31%, roughly one paying spin in three, against a volatility Hacksaw rates 4 out of 5.

Stakes run from €0.10 to €100. The 10,000x ceiling is worth €1,000 at minimum stake, €10,000 at €1 and €1,000,000 at the maximum; Hacksaw states it can be reached in every game mode, buys included.

Four buys are offered, none of them in the United Kingdom: BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 5x stake, which multiplies scatter likelihood tenfold, at 96.30% RTP; Cash is King FeatureSpins at 75x, guaranteeing at least five Cash symbols, one multiplier and one Grab'em per spin, at 96.34%; The Vault at 100x for 96.30%; and The High-Security Vault at 300x for 96.27%. The game went wide on 4 April 2024, after an exclusive window that opened on 22 March.

    Cash Crew FAQ

What is the RTP of Cash Crew and what does it cost?

    The default setting is 96.

26%, meaning the house keeps €3. 74 of every €100 staked over a very large number of spins. Three lower versions exist — 94. 23%, 92. 17% and 88. 29% — and the operator decides which one it installs.

    How are Cash symbols banked?

They pay nothing while they sit alone on the grid.

A Grab'em scatter has to appear while at least one Cash symbol is present. The collection then fires and every displayed value, from 1x to 500x, is banked together in one go.

How do the multiplier wilds work?

They are full wilds and substitute for any symbol in the paytable.

At the moment of collection, each one multiplies the Cash symbols inside a 3x3 area around it. The published values run from x2 up to x25.

Why does the position of a multiplier matter so much?

Because its area of effect is capped at 3x3.

An x25 sitting away from the Cash symbols is worth nothing, while a well-placed x5 in the middle of a cluster of Cash can be worth more. Two adjacent multipliers also combine with each other.

What do 500x and x25 actually produce together?

The product is 12,500x stake, more than the game's own 10,000x ceiling.

Arithmetically, a single full-value Cash symbol caught by the maximum multiplier is enough on its own to saturate the maximum win.

What separates The Vault from The High-Security Vault?

The Vault needs 3 scatters and pays 6 free spins.

The high-security version needs 4 scatters, gives 9 spins and guarantees that every Cash symbol landing is worth at least 5x stake. That floor is what makes it the more expensive buy.

Can the free spins be extended?

    Yes, in The Vault.

Stopwatch symbols appear during the round and add between 1 and 6 extra free spins. Given the 6-spin starting hand, one well-timed stopwatch can nearly double the length of the feature.

How much do the four bonus buys cost?

BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 5x stake, Cash is King FeatureSpins at 75x, The Vault at 100x and The High-Security Vault at 300x.

At a €1 stake that runs from €5 to €300. None of these buys is offered in the United Kingdom.

Which buy carries the best RTP?

Cash is King FeatureSpins, at 75x stake, with 96.

34%. The most expensive one, The High-Security Vault at 300x, shows 96. 27% — the lowest of the four. Paying more does not improve the theoretical return, it only buys a more concentrated variance.

What does the Cash is King buy guarantee?

At least five Cash symbols, one multiplier and one Grab'em scatter on every spin.

It is the only buy that reshapes the base game instead of opening a vault, and it carries the best RTP of the four at 96. 34%.

What does a 4-out-of-5 volatility mean here?

Hacksaw places Cash Crew at 4 on its own five-step meter.

With a 31% hit rate, roughly one spin in three returns something, but the collections that genuinely pay — where a multiplier lands on a big Cash symbol — stay rare.
