About Alien Invaders
Alien Invaders arrived on 10 July 2025 from Pragmatic Play, and its structure fits none of the studio's usual families. There are no fixed paylines, no Megaways, no clusters. The grid holds five reels whose height varies between three and five symbols, and SlotCatalog describes it as a 20 betways system.
The winning principle is unusual. The bottom row is marked with a border. When at least three matching symbols land on it, the corresponding reels become active, and every matching symbol present on those reels forms the winning combination before exploding. It is not aligned positions that pay, but whole columns validated from below.
Each explosion triggers a drop: the remaining symbols fall, new ones arrive, and a fresh validation of the bottom row can restart the sequence. A spin plays out as a chain, like a conventional tumble mechanic, except the restart condition always runs through that same row.
The converter is an explosion counter. The win multiplier starts at x1 and climbs +1x for every ten symbols destroyed during the spin. Thirty exploded symbols is worth x3, fifty is worth x5. This counter is independent of wilds and mechanically rewards chain length.
Wilds appear on reel 3 and carry a multiplier drawn from x1, x2, x3, x5, x10 and x25 in the base game. During free spins that scale rises to x100. Scatters have a function of their own: when one reaches the bottom row, it explodes the symbols immediately adjacent to it, horizontally, vertically and diagonally — feeding the explosion counter without any winning combination involved.
Three or more scatters open 7 free spins, with 3 extra spins per scatter beyond the third. The feature changes two rules: the win multiplier no longer resets between spins, and reels can permanently expand to five symbols for the rest of the bonus. Additional spins are granted when scatters reach the bottom row.
The default RTP is 96.50%: £3.50 of house margin per £100 staked. That is exactly the studio's standard setting — 503 of the 634 Pragmatic Play titles in our database carry this value to the hundredth. SlotCatalog documents two downgraded builds, at 95.48% and 94.51%. Fruity Slots reports a fourth at 92.01%, which we have not found elsewhere: at that level the house margin would reach £7.99 per £100 staked, more than double the high version.
Stakes run from £0.20 to £240 per spin, and up to £300 with the Ante Bet. That option raises the stake by 25% and doubles the bonus trigger frequency — theoretical RTP is unchanged, so you are buying frequency, not value.
The maximum win is 5,000x, which is £1,000 at £0.20, £5,000 at £1 and £1,200,000 at maximum stake. SlotCatalog puts the odds of reaching it at roughly 1 spin in 87.7 million. That ceiling places the game in the bottom 12.5% of the Pragmatic Play catalogue, whose median sits at 10,000x. In exchange, hit frequency is high: 34.48%, or a paying spin every 2.90.
Two purchases are offered: 65x the stake for random scatters, and 400x for Super Free Spins that begin with an x50 multiplier already banked. The first is cheap against the studio's usual pricing, frequently set at 100x. The second is a different instrument: 400x is £80 at minimum stake and £400 at £1, for a feature that must average more than 400x simply to repay its price. Both options are banned in the United Kingdom.
