Alibaba's Cave of Fortune in detail
Released on 11 November 2025, Alibaba's Cave of Fortune borrows the forty-thieves tale to dress up a mechanic PG Soft had rarely used until then: the coin-and-collector hold & win. The studio's datasheet describes a conventional engine — standard spinning reels, 5 reels, 3 rows, 243 ways to win, base bet fixed at 20 credits. The wild substitutes for everything except the Coin and the Collector, and appears only on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The distinctive part is that coins and collectors are already live in the base game. A single collector plus at least one coin on the same grid is enough for every coin to reveal a value between 1x and 10x the stake, paid immediately. That is not a footnote: it is what gives a little life to an otherwise very flat base game.
The bonus feature needs 6 coins or more anywhere on the grid and awards 3 bonus spins. One detail rescues a lot of spins: with 4 or 5 coins, the game has a random chance of adding 2 or 1 respectively to force the trigger. During the round the grid is locked to six symbols only — Collector, Coin, Mini, Minor, Major and Grand — and every empty position reveals either a collector or nothing.
The heart of the game sits in one line of the documentation: all values on the reels are paid for every collector on screen. A board loaded with 300x and a single collector pays 300x; the same board with three collectors pays 900x. Each collector that has done its job then flips into a value symbol — Coin, Mini, Minor, Major or Grand — and the bonus spin counter resets to 3. The round only ends when three consecutive spins pass without a single collector.
The fixed values are known in advance: Mini 20x, Minor 50x, Major 500x, Grand 5,000x, with coins staying between 1x and 10x. The maximum win is 10,000x the stake, and the spin stops dead the moment that ceiling is touched. PG Soft adds that the maximum exposure simulated over a billion spins is also 10,000x, which is rare: here the marketing figure matches what the simulation actually produced.
On the numbers, the studio publishes an overall RTP of 96.77%, split into 66.44% base game and 30.33% bonus feature. The overall hit rate is 33.89% — one spin in three returns something — but the bonus fires on just 0.38% of spins. Volatility is classed high, stakes run from €0.20 to €100 (bet size 0.01, 0.1 or 0.5, level 1 to 10), certification is by Gaming Associates, and there is no bonus buy option in the official sheet.
