5 Lions Megaways 2 was released on 27 February 2025, not in November 2024 as our entry claimed before verification. It is the direct sequel to 2021's 5 Lions Megaways and the fifth title in a series opened in 2018.
The grid keeps six reels, but each one can now show up to eight symbols, which brings the total to 262,144 ways to win — 8 × 8 × 8 × 8 × 8 × 8. The first instalment stopped at 200,704 because its two outer reels capped at seven.
The engine is still built on tumbles: paying symbols vanish, the next ones drop in, and the chain continues as long as a combination keeps forming. The wild arrives with a random multiplier ranging from x2 to x100, in the base game as well as in the bonus.
Three or more scatters open the free spins, and the game presents a menu of eight entries, between 5 and 25 spins depending on the multiplier scale chosen: few spins with x20 to x100 wilds at one end, 25 spins with x2 to x8 wilds at the other, plus a mystery option that draws the setting at random.
The real novelty is Level Up. During free spins, Level Up coins land on the grid; each time three are collected, the round moves up a level, three spins are added to the counter and the smallest wild multiplier value is removed from the pool until the feature ends. In other words, the longer the session lasts, the bigger the wilds still in play.
